Well tonight I am orienting to the role of charge nurse and I am a little freaked out. It is a lot of responsibility, especially at a level one trauma center. Hopefully it works out okay.

Marsha found this card being sold by the ASPCA and this dog "Zoe" looks just like Nico especially with the heart shaped tag. Ironically, Zoe was one the names we considered before naming Nico, "Nico".

See I knew they were secretly friends. I came downstairs at 3 in the morning and found this scene here. I guess even animals need to take a break from their traditional roles.

So I have managed to narrow down my mutual funds to 13 from Fidelity. I need to narrow it down to just four for Marsha and I to put in out 403 (B). Retirement plans in the US are "hella (stupid East Bay word that all of northern California now uses)" confusing between 403 (b)s if your company is non profit, 401 (k)s if they are for profit, IRAs and Tax Deffered Annuitys (which might be the same I am not sure). In Canada it is simple, RRSPs ( and RESPs for your kids education) and that is it. Simple

So we have fallen prey to late night TV and ordered the Carleton Sheets No Money Down Real Estate Course. For those of you that know us you know this is our plan all along (don't want to be starting IVs when I am 50). We started the home study course on March 2nd and so far so good. It all seems pretty legit and he takes you through it step by step. Only hitch so far is that one of the DVDs does not play but they should be sending our a new one on Monday. By the way it is only $9.95 to try the course for 30 days if you keep it, it costs a lot more. Hopefully it is worth it. Who knows if we are successful perhaps we can live the American Dream...from the comfort of Canada (ha ha).

This class was awesome but I am pretty sore now. My forearms are all bruised and I got whacked in the face once (but not too hard)...good times...good times. I love it!!!!

Going to a 4 hour Krav class today. Hopefully it will be good. Too bad my shoulder is sore from my immunization yesterday but oh well.

Saw this movie tonight, it was very original and I gave it 5 stars.

A dwarf's friend dies and leaves him a depot at a train station in a small New Jersey town that happens to be called Newfoundland. He goes off to live there like a hermit but ends up making friends with a wide assortment of interesting characters.

Me and Harm by the Great Big Sea tour bus in downtown San Francisco. It was a great show. If you closed your eyes during the show you were home in Newfoundland. The place was packed. I saw that it was rated to hold about 620 people so there was definetly a lot of people there. I never thought there were so many newfies right here in the bay area. Marsha even met a girl from the Goulds that works in the same hospital as us. Small world!

Going to See Great Big Sea tonight at Bimbo's 365 club in downtown San Francisco. Should be pretty cool wonder how many newfies will be there?

Went to the Coldplay concert last night in San Jose at the HP Pavilion and it was awesome. Fiona Apple opened up which was okay but Coldplay was great and they played my favorite song "the scientist" and "fix you".

Watched the Trailer Park Boys Christmas special last night is was f*%$ing funny as Ricky would say. Notice I censored myself in the last sentence, must be the US rubbing off on me ha ha. That is what I like about Canada though, we are not uptight, and a show with language as vulgar as Trailer Park Boys can air on regular cable there. Down here it comes on BBC world and everything is beeped out which sucks.

Well here I am for the next 10 days, just me, Nico and Casey. Marsha is visiting in Newfoundland. Hopefully it will go fast. Perhaps I will look for extra shifts at work or something.
