Running the Sahara (NFLD connection)

You have probably heard of the Canadian guy, Ray Zahab (who finished first I might add), that ran the Saraha desert as part of the documentary being produced by Matt Damon. Here is a link to the official website. The doctor that was there the entire time with the runners was actually a guy I work with a lot and know pretty well from Stanford named Jeff Peterson (click the name and read the Bio). Anyway as it happens, Ray Zahab (the Canadian) is married to a woman from Newfoundland and Jeff became pretty good friends with both of them and now wants to visit Newfoundland in the summer. Jeff spent over 100 days in Africa with the runners. The last time I saw him was around Halloween when he had a wine party at his house. Pretty cool.
